Datapad Updates and New HUD
Alongside working on the ArcCW V2 update the Dev Team have been working on a number of RP enhancement features, some which have already been rolled out and others still being worked on. One of these projects was an expansion of the role of the RDV Datapad, to include a Hostile Scanner, Arrest Report System and Defcon System, all being able to be accessed only be the appropriate jobs. A summary of the different systems can be seen below
Hostile Scanner
A physical hostile scanner for 327th, using the RDV Datapad. It is accessed controlled so only engineers can start a scan and it uses the number of active NPC's and EE's on the map. (It will take longer than in the video for a scan to complete)
In future updates there are plans to: Update the UI, Increase Interactivity
Arrest Report System
An ingame arrest report system for CG. In its current state it will automatically generate a RFA via the RDV Datapad and create a release message and then notify/ping the arresting officer to release the prisoner.
In future updates there are plans to migrate the arrest log onto the system.
Defcon System
New Defcon System, controlled either by: RDV Datapad, Defcon Control Console, Defcon Command by authorised jobs. Defcon is displayed in the top right of the HUD alongside a short description/command related to that Defcon level (For example Defcon 1: Evacuate). Defcon changes will also emit a sound, linked to the Defcon level being changed to (Alarm, Ping, etc)
New HUD
Following on from the new Defcon system, we are introducing a new HUD to replace our old one. While our old one was nicely stripped back and simplistic it had some major scaling issues and we feel this new HUD is nicer looking and functions better.
These updates/features are only the first "wave" of enhancements we are planning to make, with more to be showcased and released down the line. We hope to roll out the above changes soon however there are still some final adjustments that need to be made.
If you have any suggestions, questions, etc please just reply to this thread.
